Hamza Elshakankiri

Hamza Elshakankiri is a PhD student in the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the methodology of nineteenth-century censuses and the utilization of census results in policymaking. His research interests include the history of enumeration and governance, the history of surveillance, political history, and military history.

Hamza completed his MA in History at the Department of History at the University of Toronto. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Regina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and a Certificate in German Language and Culture.
